Air Conditioner

Everytime I turn on the air conditioner it smells so bad I end up turning it off and rolling down the windows. The heater does the same thing which is a problem since it's winter now. It's smells like a rodent got into my vents. Could it be something else? If yes, what and how do I fix it? If not, how do I get the vents cleaned out? Does anybody know where to get a Mini Cooper mechanics guide?

i know that a friend of mine had his HVAC system professionally cleaned because someone got drunk and puked onto his dash, and it went into the defrosters. check with a body shop.

im going to bring back this thread and say that they sell stuff at the parts store that you spray into the vents and it kills smells, mold and other funky stuff...i used it on my buddies car and it worked awsome
