Yea, I would like to see a video. There's a guy on Car Domain that has a Twin Charged Mini. It runs 300whp with a stock SC and Garrett Turbo. It looks pretty sick, but I've always wondered what it would sound like.

Please!!!! give me a video or at least a sound clip!!! I'm dieing to hear it!!!!!

Yeah definetly get a video or something, because it's not every day that you get to see a twincharged Mini.

Maximusmini's Twincharged car [aka Vader] is FUN to drive. Very little turbo lag, thanks to the supercharger, and lots of rolling start 2nd-gear tire burning action Not an endeavor for the faint of heart, but the bragging rights are undeniable.

While i don't have video of my Vader, I do have pics hosted on photobucket.com, just do a search for Maximusmini and you'll see me.

BTW Rye, you need to change your sig buddy

So what's the status of this now? It's been like 2months. I hope you got the MCS back and give us some vids! I think you must have forgotten.

But I know I didn't!!!

Well, get something! I mainly want to hear the twin charger (obviously) but would also like to see it driving and the exterior.

The Twincharger doesn't really sound much different than a stock MCS. The main differences being an obnoxious blow-off valve going "PSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHH!!!!!!" every time you lift the throttle, and the no-muffler 3" exhaust blaring loudly out the back!

Performance, especially at full-throttle, is awesome. Extremely low turbo lag, it just burns the tires off and you're at redline and you shift and do it all over again until 4th gear! Drivability however, is lacking. It's a bit jerky, a bit unrefined, and at low-load the BOV and bypass valve tend to fight each other. These are things Maximus and I are slowly ironing out.

Maybe that's old school terms? I haven't liked cars for long (about two years) but I've always heard it called a BOV...?

Actually BOV=Blow Off Valve and Bypass Valves are TWO TOTALLY DIFFERENT things.

Well, then that makes sense, care to explain a little bit the difference? I'm curious to know.

Blow Off Valves are required when using a turbo to ris the engine of excess Vaccuum that could dangerously destroy your engine. Bypass Valve is used to help direct vacuum/boost to where the engine needs it most. All Mini Cooper S' have Bypass Valves.

hmm, this must be a MINI thing, because i have commonly read people referring to a BOV as a bypass valve. for instance, when i worked for dodge, the sRT4 doesnt have a stock blow off valve, but it has a bypass valve, which serves the same purpose as the bov, but is a very different setup.

also, BOVs arent required, per se, but it is MUCH better for the turbocharger to have one. Some older turbo cars didnt come with BOVs (mine for instance) and allow the boost to back up, or "stack". "Stacking" actually forces the pressure to back up, through the compressor side thus slowing down the compressor wheel (and over time, damaging it)
