Hi everybody! Im new here and would like to know where could I find the 04 Maintenance Schedule? Tried Edmunds, and searched with no results... don't want to ask the dealer as my hubby wants to take over maintenance from this point on.
The car has 40k miles.
Thanks!

It should go something like this:

Oil change - every 12-15K miles
Service 1 at 30-35K miles
Service 2 at 50 - 55K miles

You know about the service indicator right?  It tells you when you're due.  If it's close to 0 I would say you're about due for your Service 2 but it's a high number 10,000 - 15,000 I think all you need to worry about are oil and filter changes, plugs at 100,000 miles etc, all the stuff you would on any car.

Hi AMG,

Need to change the oil, the indicator shows "-4700 service oil" (oil level is still good 80%full) what kind of brand of motor oil they recommend? Also where on line I can find oil&filters?

btw, Thanks so much for the attachment...

Pretty sure that means you have 4,700 miles left until you need to change the oil, it would say 0 if you needed to do.  I think MINI recomends Castrol?  You need to get the filter from a dealer so ask them what oil to get while you're there.

We can confirm that -4700 means we missed it of 4700 miles, then we looked at the history and realized we had denied the service and then forgot of doing it. Dealer charges 125 to inspect and do oil+filter... we'll do that and then look at the work they think we should do... the only thing on there that sound hard to do is the auto-trasmission fluid change.
we'll see.
thanks so much

You don't need to get the oil filter from a dealer. In fact, it's probably a bad idea because they so outrageously overcharge. WIX, Purolator, and I am sure, others, make these filters.
As to oil to use: use any good full synthetic oil:  Some of the best are Amsoil, Redline, Royal Purple, or Motul' Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntec are a close second choice.
