And if so what are the pros and cons? And is it worth it? or should i just buy a new one?

What do you mean by old and new? They've been making them since the 60's.

Anything is POSSIBLE if you have very deep pockets an intimate knowledge of the cars electrical and computer systems , as well as the mechanicals ... Worth it DOUBTFUL

If you want to put an R56 engine in an R53... no way, there's absolutely nothing that will work or line up. The engine is rotated 180 degrees but I doubt it would fit anyways, the computer is different, which also controls almost every aspect of the car, etc etc.

If you want a turbo on an R53, just take off the supercharger and add a turbo. It's completely possible.
